Review of Neutrogena Visibly Clear® Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash and Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil Free Moisturiser.

First the face wash -

Neutrogena says that -
NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR® Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash is an uplifting daily facial cleanser for clearer, fresher and healthier looking skin every day. With powerful MICROCLEAR® technology, the formula cleanses deeply to help eliminate spots and blackheads. The refreshing gel gently purifies the skin without overdrying, whilst a wave of pink grapefruit uplifts the senses with a burst of invigorating freshness!

Now I don't have terrible skin but I sometimes can get a minor breakout and have a few pesky blackheads that keep coming back. My skin is combination with an oily t-section and dryer cheeks so to try find a reasonably priced product that doesn't leave my face oily or dry is a problem.

So the positives I found :

Firstly I can't get over the smell - The zesty grapefruit smell is so refreshing and delicious (I almost want to eat it!) so Neutrogena were definitely right about the wave that uplifts the senses!

Secondly my skin is looking clear and feels much softer.

The negatives I found:

It hasn't eliminated the blackheads, so I might have to try alternating with the daily scrub. I also feel like it is quite drying and feel that I must rush to put on the moisturiser, which isn't great.

Next the Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil Free Moisturiser

Neutrogena claims that -
NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR® Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Moisturiser is a daily facial moisturiser with a fresh fragrance that leaves skin looking beautifully clear and healthy.
1. Hydrates: the light oil-free formula provides 24hr hydration without clogging the pores. It absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft.
2. Clears: enriched with MicroClear® technology, used daily, it helps to reduce and prevent spots and blemishes. Skin looks more smooth and even, the complexion is visibly improved.
3. Refreshes: the lightweight formula with its delicate hint of pink grapefruit quenches your skin with hydration and uplifts your senses so you look and feel fresh.
I found a lot of this to be true as there is a lovely fresh scent and my skin stayed hydrated the entire day. unfortunately I had to use more moisturiser than I would usually use, as my skin felt a little dry without the extra amount - which created a slightly oily feeling.

Overall I think that these two products are a fantastic buy for small budgets, It isn't the wonder solution I've been looking for but I will be buying them again!

Keep connected !

Review of Rubybox ‘Va va volume’ mascara

source - (with a touch of personal editing)

Here is my review on Rubybox’s ‘Va Va Volume mascara’, for starters it has elegant packaging with a classic black tube – always a winner in my book. Now to see if it’s va va boom!! Or va va doom…

When I was applying the mascara - it had a smooth and easy glide but almost too easy, as it smudged easily which meant there had to be many touch ups done. Not beuno! Once applied it feels a little gloopy, as when I blinked the lashes appeared to stick a little. Which worried me as I’m sure like most of you, when I wear makeup I don’t want to feel it sticking to my face.

But after (quite a long) wait I reapplied a second coat, although having to work out any clumping, once complete it added a lot of volume and even lengthened my little lashes.

On the tube it reads - “Get fatter lashes instantly with this volume-boosting mascara” which makes it the first I’ve seen “fat” on any beauty product other than “removes fat” which I thought was an interesting marketing strategy.

But all in all this Rubybox mascara works and does its job but it’s definitely not on my top 5 list.

Batiste Dry Shampoo {Review}

Now this is a product that I have walked past many times in the isles of a million choices of shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, hair oils, mousses, sprays and all sorts of other potions to sort out dull, greasy hair that lacks shine and lustre. So probably like many of you, I just walked past, picking up my normal favourite products – never wondering into the unknown.

Now the day before hair washing day can get tricky, its starting to get oily, yet your hair has just retained its natural bounce – so dilemma – what do you do? you pick up the “so called” trusted baby powder and then your hair looks well, dull and full of baby powder.

Which brings me back to this little spray can on the shelf. Upon reading, “ instantly revitalises hair. Removes excess grease, boosts body & leaves hair feeling clean & fresh”. Sounded too good to be true but I gave it a bash.

Well I can honestly say I have found my favourite hair potion. After following directions, it really did help wonders, this little spray can will forever be in A. my gym bag (not that I go to gym – but when I do..) to refresh my hair if there is no time to wash my hair. B. My hand bag (just in case) and C. (the most important) my travel bag when going on safari – as you never know when showering might not be a possibility.

My hair definitely had more volume, felt soft, and didn’t look powdery like baby powder would have made it. Just make sure to only spray the roots, don’t spray too much and brush it out.

I tried original and Blush, although Blush smells lovely, I wouldn’t want people to know I’m wearing it, so will stick to original!

Pinterest woes

Now this is something that may shock a few of you… but Pinterest has (possibly) made planning my wedding even harder.

I will explain… you see every woman has dreamed of their wedding day since they were a little girl and I’m sure mine started with everything being PINK – pink dress, flowers, everything! And Im also pretty sure the groom was going to be Ken ie. Barbie’s Ken (for those of you who didn’t live for Barbie’s).

But as I grew- everything evolved like when I was 15 and wanted my entire ear pierced and I was going to wear army boots under my wedding gown.

Well now my childhood dreams, my teenage whims and today’s need for a glamorous wedding has all collided.

And Pinterest has made it more complicated – as I see how other things, I never imagined could be.

Beautiful beach ceremony does not go well with high heels (imagine sandy toes between Jimmy Choo’s) - no thank you. So im trying to filter out some of my dreams and it’s hard I almost wish I could have two entirely different weddings – one completely on the beach, with no shoes, beach curls and sitting on cushions. While the other in an amazing venue with chandeliers, champagne towers and Jimmy Choo’s.

Daily dose of inspiration...

I want this blog to be found for a daily dose of inspiration to go purchase that magnificent beauty product, that will take your woes away or to eat out at a new restaurant.

Also this is for all of you engaged ladies who are stressed about your wedding - this is to show you that I and many others are in the same boat.

So this is it...

So this is it… the beginning of life for my little blog. All things me, my likes and things I love... Not to mention that a few days before Christmas I got engaged!! YAY!!! So there will be lots of meandering thoughts on that topic..

This is my space to write out my crazy thoughts so that my head is free to dream, so there maybe something here that interests you but maybe not.  But C'est la vie (That's life).

So sit back relax, pour yourself a nice cup of tea or Vino (no ones judging) and let these pages stoke your desire for beauty, food and a wedding to plan.
